Last Driftwood and Grace newsletter we gave the invitation to cultivate loving connection in Kisses in the Sheets- and Other Ways of Cultivating Loving Connection.
Check it out here if you missed it.
And now, my thoughts go to embracing today. Truly valuing where we are in the journey of life, right now.
An Invitation
Today I invite you to see you.
To really see you.
Not who you used to be.
Not who you may one day aspire to be.
But to see you, here, now, as you are.
I invite you to breathe into those words “as you are”.
Breathe fresh, loving, free and vibrant air into you “as you are”. Breathe into who you are, now.
Just that. Allow that. Allow you space and time, now, as you are.
The past with all of its sweetness of youth, awkward hesitations, growing pains, and juicy excitement of life, has passed.
The past has passed.
We may still cling to the past, believing an illusion, not trusting that our now is of more value than the shadows of the past.
And, the past has passed.
We may still hold tightly in our cells the things we had no power to avoid nor change.
And, the past has passed.
We may warm ourselves in memories of loved ones and cherished times.
And, the past has passed.
The past was an incredible gift, however difficult or joyous that gift may have been for us.
And, the past has passed.
The dandelion held in delight, has been blown by the loving breeze of life itself. Dandelion spores have darted and dispersed into the hearts of others. The seed of who we are and what we have done has spread far beyond our own being.
And, the past has passed.
We let it be.
We let it go.
We let us grow.
The past has passed.
What remains when the past has passed and we let that be, is a grand richness of learning.
A tremendous tower of knowledge and nuanced knowing, within us that both bows to the sweet fragrance of the smallest flower, and soars to gentle and demanding realms.
Embracing today, we joyfully surrender the need to cling to what has gone before.
We age, knowing that each day is a gift to be embraced and with which to emblaze our essence just a litter further while the day remains.
With live joyfully, knowing as Kahlil Gibran knew,
Joy is your sorrow unmasked.
And the selfsame well from which your laughter rises was oftentimes filled with your tears.
And how else can it be?
The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain.
We hold our own space, knowing that we belong here, for the time we are given to be here.
We belong.
We embrace today, we own our age, we feel our joy, we hold our own space beautifully and courageously.
Thank you for you. Thank you for sharing time. Thank you for your loving heart.
Welcome here.
Welcome to living your life.
Consciously.
Lovingly.
Gently.
Be kind to you.
Be kind.
Have a wonderful day.
Lovingly,
Melanie Williams de Amaya
